Funding-first
Bounties
A bounty is a funded deliverable waiting for a builder to claim it. Backers deposit NOCK upfront, and builders apply with their experience and approach. Stewards select one builder to commit and deliver the work.

Crowdfunding infrastructure
NockFund is a NOCK-native platform where the community funds and coordinates software projects that strengthen the Nockchain network. Projects are funded in NOCK, tracked publicly, and delivered through transparent milestone-based workflows.

NockFund helps the Nockchain community collectively fund, coordinate, and deliver open software work. Anyone can support a project by pledging NOCK. Builders can apply to bounties or launch campaigns. Stewards approve milestones and authorize payouts.
Key Points:
❶ All funding is denominated in NOCK
❷ Projects are delivered through milestones
❸ Funds are locked until all conditions are met
Funding-first
A bounty is a funded deliverable waiting for a builder to claim it. Backers deposit NOCK upfront, and builders apply with their experience and approach. Stewards select one builder to commit and deliver the work.

Builder-first
A campaign is a builder-initiated fundraising effort. The builder proposes a project and raises NOCK from the community. Campaigns follow an all-or-nothing model: funds are only locked and released if the goal is met.

Users can participate in different roles across different projects.

Backers pledge NOCK to support a project. Any authenticated user can become a backer. For bounties, the first steward can also be a backer. For campaigns, anyone who pledges becomes a backer.

Stewards approve milestone completions, authorize fund releases, and select builders for bounties. Steward selection is defined per project and is designed to align decision-making authority with community funding.

Builders deliver the work. In campaigns, the steward can also be the builder. In bounties, builders apply and one is selected to commit to delivery.
How funds are locked and released
NockFund is designed to lock pledged NOCK on-chain, ideally using a steward-controlled multi-signature mechanism. This minimizes custodial risk and ensures transparent settlement.

Key rules:
❶ Pledged NOCK is locked once committed
❷ Funds are released only after steward approval
❸ Refunds return NOCK to original backers if the project fails or expires
How stewards are selected
Steward selection is currently under discussion and may vary by project type. The final mechanism will be published here once finalized.

Key point:
Steward selection rules will be shown on every project page.
